College of Engineering Assembly for the 114th Academic Year
National Taipei University of Technology held the College of Engineering Assembly for the 114th Academic Year on December 30, 2025. The event was rich in content and deeply meaningful. During the assembly, Vice Dean Chen Chin-Wen introduced the planning of "Micro-programs" to first-year students, helping them explore interdisciplinary fields and enhance their professional capabilities in their future studies. Simultaneously, staff from the Office of International Affairs explained various pathways for overseas study, including exchange programs and dual-degree systems, encouraging interested students to prepare early and expand their international perspectives.
The assembly also featured an award ceremony to recognize faculty members for their outstanding performance in research, teaching, and industry-academic collaboration. Among them, the Outstanding Research Award was presented to Prof. Lin Qun-Zhe from the Department of Molecular Science and Engineering, and Prof. Lee Wen-Ya from the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology. The Outstanding Teaching Award went to Prof. Hsu Hsiao-Hsuan from the Department of Materials and Mineral Resources Engineering, and Prof. Lee Min-Tsong from the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology. The Outstanding Industry-Academic Collaboration Award was awarded to Prof. Chen Rou-Fei and Prof. Yang Yung-Chin from the Department of Materials and Mineral Resources Engineering. In addition, six students received scholarships from the Chemical Engineering Alumni Association of Taichung Municipal Taichung Industrial High School for their exceptional performance, demonstrating the university's achievements in talent cultivation.
Notably, the assembly specially invited Vice General Manager Chiang Chi-Heng and Chief Engineer Chen Chao-Jung—recipients of the 2024 Outstanding Engineer Award from the Chinese Institute of Engineers—to deliver a talk titled "Engineering Launch: Building Your Career Blueprint." They shared insights on career planning and future development directions in the engineering field. Through this exchange of professional experience, students gained a clearer understanding of their future academic and career goals. Overall, the assembly not only strengthened the unity between faculty and students, but also opened a new chapter for freshmen in engineering education and international exchange.
