Policies for Ph.D. qualification examination

The EOMP program requires prospect Ph.D. students to pass three subject written exams (Total score is 100 points, and the passing score is 70 points). Students are limited to re-take for the same failed subject(s) twice. Should a student fail a particular subject, he/she is allow to change to another exam subject only once; and the student is limited to re-take once for the altered subject.

1. pass 3 subjects written exam.

2. pass 2 subjects written exam. He/she will need to publish additional 1 SCI journal paper as the substitution for one qualification exam. Student has to be the first author except the advisor).

3. pass 1 subjects written exam. He/she will need to publish addition 2 SCI journal paper as the substitution for two qualification exam. Student has to be the first author except the advisor.

(the above SCI journal paper(s) is (are) not included in the 2 minimum published SCI journal paper requested by EOMP) 

Remarks

1. Based on National Taipei University of Technology, Energy and Optoelectronic Materials Program (EOMP), Rules and Regulation, to be eligible to apply for the oral defense of the Ph.D. thesis dissertation, candidates need to publish 2 SCI journal paper (student should be the first author except advisor).

2. The above rules are applied to the students enrolled at the academic year of 2009.
